Our Favorite Power Style Icon

Behind every successful man is a woman, and the President of the United States has a well-dressed one at that. Just putting it out there, but our girl Michelle Obama has been slaying the fashion world with her outfits each and every time.

Not only does she don the pearl necklaces, brooches and wrap dresses, but her wit and sincerity is palpable through her roles as First Lady, mother, wife and campaigner, making her one to keep your eyes peeled for!

Everyone knows her as the First Lady, but did you know that Michelle Obama also featured in Maxim’s “Hot 100” List back in 2009? She does it effortlessly, clad in her signature sleeveless dress, exuding class and elegance. Michelle Obama’s style is apparent, with her often decked in her favorite designers Jason Wu, Isabel Toleido, and Narciso Rodriguez for formal events. On an off day, she can be found in her all-time favorite high street wear brands J. Crew and H&M.

Her stylish outlook is accompanied by an equally powerful mind, seeing as Michelle Obama is one of only three First Ladies with a graduate degree, graduating from Harvard Law. Although she left a job that paid her more than US$200,000 a year, she has now found her place as a role model for many, being a strong advocate for support for military families and the encouragement of healthy living and eating amongst youths. (Check out how chic she looks while doing, er, aerobics!)

Also, what’s not to love about Michelle Obama’s no fear straight shooting candor? Once, as a teen, she had been reprimanded for splurging on a Coach handbag. Only Michelle Obama would be able to conjure up a witty comeback that shocked her mother into silence, calmly retorting that her mother would go through 10 bags in the time she had that bag. (Props to her for being a young fashionista too!)

ALT Ring 1007

Michelle Obama’s looks often focus on a clean, bold silhouette, with few distractions and a lot of structure. We think her look would go perfectly with our #1007 ring, with its clean, strong curves and understated center detail.

We’re super psyched to see what she gets busy with after she leaves the White House later this year. MO FTW!
